Having visited her GP surgery with, what I now know to be classic symptoms of Ovarian Cancer, My Mum was mis-diagnosed with diverticulitus with no follow up from that GP. When the cancer was inevitably discovered it had spead to her other organs. She died within 4 months of proper diagnosis. In the meantime having had to endure a destructive hysterectomy & debilitating chemotherapy. I hope that, in the future, proper diagnosis can help prevent other women having to endure the suffering my mother experienced. Raising money for the cause will be welcome but, more importantly, raising awareness is a key element.
